Content Policy

ViceMod is built for legitimate community modding. This policy explains what belongs here and what does not. It applies to everything shared on ViceMod: mods, files, images, descriptions, profiles and messages. We judge content by what it actually does and is meant for — calling something "educational", "for testing", "private" or "research" does not change the rules.

What ViceMod is for#

We welcome work that the community creates and has the right to share, including:

• vehicle, weapon, character and clothing mods;
• graphics and visual enhancements;
• map additions and world edits;
• audio and UI modifications;
• gameplay tweaks, scripts and quality-of-life improvements for single-player;
• mod loaders, editors, script tools and utilities with legitimate modding purposes;
• screenshots, videos and guides.

Being in one of these categories does not guarantee approval. Every upload must also respect copyright, trademarks, safety rules and the law.

Single-player and online play#

ViceMod is about single-player and story-mode modding. We keep it clearly separate from cheating in online games. Do not use single-player modifications in Rockstar online services unless their use is expressly permitted.

Prohibited: online cheating and abuse#

We do not allow content designed for, or primarily useful for:

• cheat menus, trainers or scripts for GTA Online or other online services;
• money, RP or XP generators, money lobbies, and illegitimate in-game currency or items;
• account boosting, unlocking, recovery or editing services;
• duplication, god-mode or other exploits for online play;
• anti-cheat, ban or authentication bypasses;
• manipulating protected game memory, data or online state;
• tools that interfere with or harass other players, including crash and denial-of-service tools;
• unauthorized multiplayer services or servers that replace or bypass official services.

Prohibited: piracy and stolen content#

• copies of games, cracks, DRM bypasses, and tools to get around ownership or licensing checks;
• full or partial game archives, extracted asset packs, and proprietary game files distributed on their own;
• leaked source code, development builds, pre-release or stolen material;
• ports of copyrighted assets from other games, or of Rockstar content into unrelated games, without permission;
• other creators' mods reuploaded without permission, including paid content redistributed for free.

Transformative work you create yourself is reviewed on its own merits, separately from direct redistribution.

Prohibited: malicious and unsafe content#

• malware of any kind: viruses, ransomware, spyware, credential, token or password stealers, crypto miners, remote-access tools and hidden payloads;
• destructive scripts or installers that act without the user's knowledge;
• instructions that are likely to damage someone's system or data;
• misleading downloads that are not what they claim to be.

Prohibited: harmful and unlawful content#

• content that is illegal where it is shared;
• harassment, threats, hate, or sharing other people's private information;
• sexual content involving minors, in any form;
• scams, phishing, spam and misleading claims.

What uploaders confirm#

Before publishing, uploaders confirm that they own the content or have the rights to distribute it, that it contains none of the prohibited material above, and that they understand ViceMod may remove content that breaks these rules. Uploaders are responsible for what they share.

Safety labels#

ViceMod will never describe a file as "verified", "scanned" or "safe" unless a real check has taken place, and we will say what that check was. Mods can still cause problems even when checked, so always keep backups.

How we enforce this policy#

Depending on the situation, we may:

• place content on hold while we investigate — a security hold for suspected malware, or a copyright hold during a rights dispute — which disables downloads;
• restrict or hide a page, or disable a specific file;
• remove content;
• warn, suspend or terminate an account.

We prefer reversible steps while a case is open, and we keep records of our decisions. Serious violations, such as distributing malware, can lead to immediate termination.

Changes#

Game publishers' policies and the modding landscape change. We update this policy when they do and keep previous versions on record.
